Men’s Ministries

“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17

     Calvary Baptist has several opportunities for men, some that meet on a weekly basis, and others at various times of the year, such as Father-Son recreational activities like attending professional baseball games, going to car races, camping and hiking. A quarterly Men’s Fellowship with other men’s groups from other churches is presently in the making! Stay tuned for more information later!

 

Women’s Ministries

“A gracious woman retaineth honor” Proverbs 11:16

     Calvary Baptist has a women’s ministry with opportunities for women to get together at various times, in various activities, having a good time and caring for each other. There is a Life Group that meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month. Sunday mornings a Bible Study is held in the Fellowship Hall at 11:00 am. The biggest opportunity of the year is the annual Women’s Retreat, something all the women don’t want to miss! It happens every January in Monterey at the Hyatt. The retreat is organized through the Converge PacWest branch of our Baptist conference so you will meet ladies from all over California and get to know the ladies from CBC, not to mention enjoy the ocean and shop!

 

Senior Adults Ministry

     At various times during the year there are outings and            transportation is usually provided. These outings are often to go enjoy plays in the surrounding communities. Every year there is the opportunity to participate in the annual Senior Adult Retreat put on the Baptist General Conference.

 

College & Career Ministry

     Calvary Baptist has a newly formed college and career age life group that is still developing. They are planning to meet one evening every week at the church.

 

Worship Ministry

     The mission of our worship ministry is to actively lead the attenders of CBC in active and meaningful worship through a variety of worship services while reaching out to our community by providing quality worship services. Worship Ministry opportunities include instrumentalists and singers for the Contemporary Worship Service (9:30 am on Sundays) and the Traditional Worship Service (11:00 am on Sundays) as well as the A/V Team, sound, lighting and media operators for services and programs. 

 

Drama Ministry

     Calvary Baptist has a dynamic drama ministry which is incorporated into our worship ministry on Sunday mornings. This ministry is comprised of both adults and youth!

 

Sports Ministry

     There are a growing number of recreation and sports-related   ministries that a part of Calvary Baptist Church. The completion of our Ministry Center provides a first-class facility for carrying out a ministry with sports! Our regular ministries include a Church Softball Team and a Men’s Basketball Leagues.

 

More Fellowship Opportunities

     All-Church Meals: Quarterly luncheons and an the Fall Chili Cook-off.

     Dinner & Fellowship Groups: Make new friends and keep in touch with old ones in these groups that meet once a month for dinner.

     Hospitality: Meet everyone as you serve snacks between Sunday worship services.

     Homeless Feeding Ministry: Be blessed as you serve the needy by helping prepare and serve a meal.

     Harvest Festival: A fun outreach held every year on October 31.
